The following is from the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/safety\/regionalAnimalServices\/FAQs.aspx\">King County Animal Services FAQ<\/a>&nbsp;web page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">In general, the leash laws are in effect in all urban areas in King County. It doesn\u2019t matter whether the urban area is part of a city or in unincorporated King County, the leash laws apply.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\"><strong>IMPOUNDING ANIMALS<\/strong><br>King County&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/safety\/AnimalServices\/regulations.aspx#0BCFE8DEF11D4DB4A25EE7D5AAC52607\">Animal Services Regulation<\/a>&nbsp;lists the following reasons for impounding of animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Animal running\u00a0<em><strong>at large<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong><em>trespassing<\/em><\/strong>;<br><em><strong>At large<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is when your animal is off your property and not under your immediate control either by voice, or by leash in leash law areas.<br><strong><em>Trespassing<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0means your animal is on anothers&#8217; private property without permission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No valid license on animal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animals with vicious propensities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animals that have threatened, attacked, bitten or attempted to bite a person, or presented an apparent attitude of attack, are subject to impound and possible quarantine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">Uncontrolled animals can be a nuisance to others and can lead to the impounding of the animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\"><strong>SCOOP LAW<\/strong><br>The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingcounty.gov\/healthservices\/health\/BOH\/code.aspx\">King County Board of Health Code<\/a>&nbsp;Title 10 Solid Waste Regulations Section 10.08.040 Animal Waste defines the scoop law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">From the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redmond.gov\/insidecityhall\/publicworks\/stormwater\/cleanstormwater.asp\">City of Redmond Stormwater \/ Drainage<\/a>&nbsp;web page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practice proper pet waste disposal.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>A day&#8217;s waste from one large dog can contain 7.8 billion fecal coliform bacteria<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>When walking: bag it.<\/strong>\u00a0 Bring plastic bags with you when you walk your dog.\u00a0 Use a bag to pick up the dog waste.\u00a0 Tie bag closed and place in trash.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At home: trash it.\u00a0 Double bag dog waste or kitty litter.\u00a0 Tie securely and place in garbage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At home option:\u00a0 flush it.\u00a0 If you are on a sewer system (not septic) flush dog or cat waste down the toilet.\u00a0 Kitty litter should not be flushed because it can clog your toilet or pipes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tips for bagging it:\u00a0 keep a supply of bags near your dog leash.\u00a0 Reuse old newspaper, bread, or sandwich bags.\u00a0 Tie bags on the leash if you don&#8217;t have pockets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">From the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redmond.gov\/insidecityhall\/publicworks\/stormwater\/faqs3.asp\">City of Redmond Stormwater \/ Drainage FAQ<\/a>&nbsp;web page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">Pet waste can be picked up by rain as it travels down the storm drain carrying with it bacteria and other harmful materials into streams.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\"><strong>BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Abide by all state and local animal laws.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>License your pet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain control of your pet so it will not be a nuisance to others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spay or neuter your pet to prevent unwanted litters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always remove waste products quickly to prevent health hazards.
